Summary:
Drivers of commercial vehicles hauling hazardous materials. Transfers the power to grant variances for commercial drivers transporting hazardous waste from the Waste Management Board to the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Commissioner can grant variances with respect to the physical qualifications of such drivers if (i) the driver is 21 years old and regularly employed to transport hazardous material, (ii) a physician certifies that the driver can safely operate a commercial vehicle transporting hazardous materials, and (iii) the Commissioner finds the driver is capable of operating a commercial vehicle.
