Summary:
Study of Virginia and United States Constitutions. Adds the completion of one semester of study of the Virginia and United States Constitutions to the requirements for graduation from high school. Under current law, the Standards of Quality (SOQ) direct the Board of Education to promulgate regulations, known as the Standards of Accreditation (SOA), that include course and credit requirements for high school graduation. The Code currently requires instruction to elementary, middle, and high school students regarding historic Virginia documents and the U.S. Constitution; however, no course requirements are specified in the Code or SOQ.
