Summary:
Transporting controlled substances into the Commonwealth. Increases the penalty for the transport of more than one ounce of cocaine or any other Schedule I or II controlled substance or more than five pounds of marijuana into the Commonwealth by a prison term of ten to fifty years and a fine not to exceed $500,000. Ten years of the sentence is mandatory with no parole, probation or good time. Current law punishes transport of one gram of cocaine (or a Schedule I or II substance) or more, or five pounds or more of marijuana with a prison term of five to forty years and a fine not to exceed $500,000.
