Summary:
Constitutional amendment; Congress term limits; ballot access. Provides that a member of the United States Senate from Virginia who serves two consecutive terms (12 years) and a member of the House of Representatives who serves six consecutive terms (12 years) will be ineligible to have his or her name printed on the ballot for any additional term. The limit does not prevent the member from being elected for additional terms as a write-in candidate. The limits do not apply to partial terms. The limits apply to terms of service beginning on or after January 1, 1997.
