Title insurance. Amends and reenacts Chapter 950 of the 1993 Acts of Assembly to make effective a bill passed by the 1993 General Assembly relating to title insurance. The act defines "title insurance risk rates" and stipulates that such rates do not include charges for abstracting, record searching, escrow services, closing services and other related services or the cost and expenses of examination of title. Title insurance risk rates must be filed with the State Corporation Commission, and the SCC is given authority to investigate whether title insurance companies, agencies and agents are complying with the provisions of Chapter 46 of Title 38.2.
