Summary:
Serious juvenile offenders. Allows juveniles of any age to be transferred for trial in the circuit court if charged with an offense which would be a Class 1, 2 or 3 felony or a felony punishable by five or more years imprisonment if committed by an adult. Prior to transfer the court would have to determine that the juvenile under 14 is not a proper person to remain within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court, based upon a variety of factors. The records of these juveniles, if tried and convicted as adults, would be available through CCRE .
