Summary:
Uniform Statewide Building Code; enforcement. Requires the local governing body to enforce the Uniform Statewide Building Code for existing buildings and structures (i) to the extent such enforcement relates to 105 of Volume II of the Building Code and (ii) upon a finding by the locality that a serious threat to health and safety exists following a complaint by a tenant in a residential rental unit which is the subject of the complaint. The bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Housing Study Commission.
