Regional jail officers. Provides technical and cleanup changes. In the 1994 Session, a number of technical changes were adopted to clarify that sheriffs and jail superintendents of jail farms and regional jails have comparable authority and to include jail officers in a number of provisions for responsibilities of and benefits for local law-enforcement officers. Specific provisions include (i) minimum qualifications for office; (ii) certification for training; (iii) decertification; (iv) line-of-duty death benefits for beneficiaries; (v) development of office procedures; and (vi) court duties
