Summary as introduced:
Study; medical errors by health care providers; report.  Requests the Board of Health Professions to study the prevalence of medical errors by health care providers in Virginia. In conducting its study, the Board of Health Professions shall study the current prevalence of medical errors by health care providers in Virginia, the potential reduction of such errors that might result from the provision of effective statutory or regulatory protections and safeguards for medical professionals who report such medical errors, and the efforts of other states to address the issues of medical errors and protection of reporters and make recommendations that address these issues and propose such legislation as may be needed to implement these recommendations.
