False reports to law-enforcement officials; penalty. Increases from a Class 2 misdemeanor to a Class 1 misdemeanor the punishment for knowingly and willfully making a materially false statement or representation to a law-enforcement officer who is in the course of conducting an investigation of a crime committed by another person.
