SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 366
Celebrating the life of Robert Phillip Wright.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 24, 2003

WHEREAS, Robert Phillip "Bob" Wright of James City County, a former assistant fire chief at Camp Peary and a part-time assistant postmaster for the Senate of Virginia, died on December 1, 2002; and

WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of James City County, Bob Wright retired in 1991 after 23 years of meritorious service as assistant fire chief at Camp Peary; and

WHEREAS, during the Korean Conflict, Bob Wright served his country as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wright was heavily involved for many years with the James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, for which he was honored as a life member; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wright also previously worked with Hornsby Oil Company, Moody Oil Company, and Stadium Oil and was formerly vice president of Wright Sign Service in Toano; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wright was an active member of the James City Ruritan Club and the James City Agricultural Organization; and

WHEREAS, during the past three General Assembly sessions, Bob Wright rendered honorable service to the members of the Senate as assistant postmaster; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wright will be missed by his large and loving family and by his many friends and admirers in the James City County community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly note with great sadness the loss of a fine Virginian, Robert Phillip Wright; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Robert Phillip Wright as an expression of the high regard in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
