Eluding police; person is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. Amending  46.2-817. (Patron-Quayle, SB 96 (Chapter 655))
Gang membership reporting; requires Department of Juvenile Justice to enter person’s name into Organized Criminal Gang File of Virginia Criminal Information Network. Amending  52-8.6. (Patron-Miller, P.J., HB 255 (I) See HB254)
Hate crimes; includes in definition a category of acts committed against a person because of person’s sexual orientation. Amending  8.01-42.1, 8.01-49.1, 18.2-57, 18.2-121, and 52-8.5. (Patron-Scott, J.M., HB 1142 (F))
Juvenile records; Department of Juvenile Justice to provide information to law enforcement that may aid in an investigation of a criminal street gang. Amending  16.1-300, 16.1-309.1, and 52-8.6. (Patron-Gilbert, HB 1121 (Chapter 367); Hurt, SB 486 (Chapter 472))
Line of Duty Act; short-term disability benefits for state police officers. Amending  51.1-1121; adding  9.1-401.1. (Patron-Carrico, HB 71 (F); Quayle, SB 95 (Chapter 654))
Machine guns; Superintendent of State Police to be notified in writing of change of address of registrant or permanent physical location. Amending  18.2-295. (Patron-Ward, HB 1209 (F))
Police lineups; establishes a uniform procedure to be used by all law-enforcement agencies. Adding  19.2-269.3. (Patron-Alexander, HB 207 (C))
Radar detectors; use thereof considered traffic infraction. Amending  52-8.4:2; repealing  46.2-1079. (Patron-May, HB 674 (F))
Service handguns; allows law-enforcement officer who retires at or after age 70 with 10 years of service to purchase for $1. Amending  59.1-148.3. (Patron-Stuart, SB 42 (Chapter 590))
Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry; Department to give notice to committed respondent of his duty to register with State Police. Amending  9.1-902, 9.1-907, 9.1-908, 53.1-116.1, and 53.1-160.1; adding  37.2-921. (Patron-Iaquinto, HB 1198 (Chapter 858))
Surplus property; proceeds from sale or lease of State Police communication towers or sites shall be deposited in special account of State Police. Amending  2.2-1150.1. (Patron-Brink, HB 1107 (Chapter 286))
